Narendra Modi to Unveil 650-Bed Free Hospital Facility at Sathya Sai Gram in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate a new 650-bed hospital facility at Sathya Sai Gram (Muddenahalli, Bengaluru) on 23 November 2025. The hospital will follow the โ€œNo Billโ€ model of the Sathya Sai mission, offering free healthcare services to all extending the institutionโ€™s legacy of charitable medical care.

Glimpse:

Built at Sathya Sai Gram, the new 650 bed hospital will mark a significant expansion of the existing free-care model at the site. Scheduled to open with Prime Minister Modi in attendance during the centenary celebrations of the Sai Baba tradition, the facility will help relieve pressure on nearby medical infrastructure and provide advanced care without billing desks or patient charges.

At the rural campus of Sathya Sai Gram, Muddenahalli (approximately 70 km north of Bengaluru), the foundation has been laid for a large-scale 650-bed hospital, which is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23 November 2025 coinciding with the 100th birth anniversary celebrations of the spiritual-service mission behind the facility.

The hospital planned as a key pillar of the Sri Sathya Sai Global Health Mission will operate on a โ€œSrif Dil, No Billโ€ principle, meaning there will be no billing desk, and patients will not be charged for services. This continues the organisationโ€™s philosophy of completely free high-quality healthcare for all, irrespective of economic status.

Currently, the site already hosts a 350-bed hospital serving tens of thousands of outpatients monthly. With rising demand, the scaled-up 650-bed facility is positioned as a major upgrade with modern infrastructure, advanced speciality services and enhanced capacity to serve rural and underserved populations.

Given Bengaluruโ€™s growing healthcare needs and the proximity of Muddenahalli to major transport routes (including road and metro connectivity via the Purple Line), this expansion could significantly ease access-to-care for regional patients and reflect a model of philanthropic health infrastructure in Indiaโ€™s โ€œAmrit Kaal.โ€ However, key questions remain around staffing, speciality mix, service readiness and integration with stateโ€™s health network.

โ€œWe are confident that Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the newly-constructed hospital the slogan โ€˜Srif Dil, No Billโ€™ continues the missionโ€™s commitment to providing free quality healthcare to everyone.โ€
