The Delhi government has announced a major push toward AI-driven healthcare and governance, inviting technology firms, startups, and research institutions to develop innovative solutions for public services including digital health.
As part of this initiative, the government’s Information Technology Department is seeking cutting edge AI tools that can be piloted across departments, with a strong focus on Healthcare Transformation, Predictive Analytics, And Smarter Service Delivery.
In the healthcare sector specifically, the move aims to leverage AI for predictive disease surveillance, hospital resource optimization, and improved patient centric platforms. These technologies could help authorities anticipate outbreaks, manage hospital capacity efficiently, and deliver faster, data driven care to citizens.
Participating companies and startups will be required to present live demonstrations of their AI solutions before a government evaluation committee. The goal is to identify scalable innovations that can be deployed in real world scenarios, starting with pilot projects across departments.
This initiative is part of a broader vision to integrate AI into multiple sectors such as governance, education, urban planning, mobility, and environmental monitoring creating a holistic smart city ecosystem powered by advanced technologies.
The move also aligns with Delhi’s larger innovation push, including plans to establish AI Centres of Excellence and strengthen the startup ecosystem. By collaborating with private players and academia, the government aims to accelerate digital transformation and improve efficiency in public service delivery.
Experts view this as a significant step toward AI-enabled public healthcare, where data driven insights and automation can enhance decision making, reduce system inefficiencies, and improve patient outcomes across the capital.
“The objective is to identify and adopt innovative AI-based solutions that can be piloted across departments.”
