Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Medical Excellence Japan (MEJ) to strengthen collaboration in the medical devices and healthcare technology sector. The agreement aims to accelerate innovation, research, investment, and technology transfer within India’s growing medtech ecosystem.
The partnership will play a key role in supporting the upcoming YEIDA Medical Device Park near the Noida International Airport, which is being developed as a major manufacturing and innovation hub for medical equipment in India. The park spans nearly 350 acres and is expected to attract domestic and international medtech companies.
Under the agreement, YEIDA will provide infrastructure support, regulatory facilitation, land allocation, utilities, and policy incentives for investors operating within the medical device park. Meanwhile, MEJ will contribute technical expertise, facilitate participation from Japanese medical technology companies, and support research collaborations and knowledge sharing initiatives.
Officials from both organizations stated that the collaboration is designed to create a structured framework for R&D Expansion, Healthcare Innovation, And Investment Promotion, while also improving patient outcomes and strengthening healthcare infrastructure.
The MoU also opens possibilities for Joint Funding Programmes, Direct Investments, Startup Support, And Grant Based Collaborations, helping Indian medtech startups gain access to advanced Japanese healthcare technologies and global expertise.
YEIDA CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh and MEJ CEO Dr. Kenji Shibuya formalized the agreement, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in building a globally competitive healthcare manufacturing ecosystem in India.
Industry observers believe this partnership aligns with India’s broader ambition to become a global hub for Medical Device Manufacturing, Healthcare Innovation, And digital Health Technologies, while strengthening India Japan healthcare ties.
