American Hospital Association (AHA) and West Health have launched a Three Year National Accelerator Program aimed at scaling Technology Enabled Patient Care Solutions, with a strong focus on AI, electronic health records (EHR), and virtual care.
Backed by a $12 Million Investment, the initiative called the West Health Accelerator at AHA’s Health Research & Educational Trust will help hospitals and health systems adopt and expand proven digital health technologies across care environments.
The accelerator will prioritize key areas such as EHR Optimization, Artificial Intelligence Integration, And Virtual Care Delivery, enabling healthcare providers to improve efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance patient outcomes.
A core objective of the program is to bridge the gap between Innovation And Real World Implementation, ensuring that technologies already proven effective can be scaled sustainably across healthcare systems. The initiative will provide hospitals with tools, frameworks, and collaborative learning opportunities to operationalize these solutions.
Leaders emphasized that while healthcare technology is evolving rapidly, System Wide Adoption Remains A Challenge, and this accelerator is designed to create clear pathways for scaling impactful innovations.
The program is expected to deliver outcomes such as Improved Patient Safety, Enhanced Clinical Quality, Operational efficiency, And Broader Access To Care, particularly through digital and remote healthcare models.
This initiative reflects a broader shift in healthcare toward AI-Powered, Digitally Integrated Care Systems, where technologies like virtual care platforms and intelligent data systems play a central role in improving both patient experience and provider efficiency.
“This collaboration is designed to expand and strengthen healthcare innovation.”
