MedPredict Pvt Ltd has launched MediElaj, an AI-powered healthcare diagnostics and remote consultation platform aimed at expanding access to affordable preventive healthcare services across India. The company says the initiative combines artificial intelligence, digital healthcare tools, and physical health kiosks to bridge healthcare accessibility gaps in urban and rural regions alike.
Unlike traditional digital health applications, MediElaj follows a hybrid healthcare model that integrates AI-driven symptom analysis with physical healthcare kiosks installed in community locations such as pharmacies, institutions, and public spaces. Users can access preliminary health assessments, digital consultations, wellness services, and AI-assisted healthcare insights through smartphones as well as nearby health centres.
The platform’s AI systems are designed to support early disease screening and preventive healthcare by analyzing patient symptoms and generating data backed health recommendations in real time. According to the company, the system can also facilitate digital health records, physiotherapy guidance, wellness management, doctor consultations, and emergency healthcare connectivity through a unified digital ecosystem.
Umesh Khatri, co-founder and CEO of MedPredict, stated that the startup has already completed a pilot phase involving over 100,000 app downloads and an operational healthcare kiosk centre in the National Capital Region that currently serves more than 200 patients every month. The company now plans large-scale expansion across Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 cities.
To support its growth plans, MedPredict is reportedly preparing to raise approximately $4–5 million in funding. The investment would be used to expand kiosk deployment, strengthen AI capabilities, improve healthcare infrastructure partnerships, and accelerate technology development. The company is currently exploring a combination of equity funding and strategic collaborations.
Healthcare technology experts believe AI-powered diagnostic platforms could significantly improve preventive healthcare access in India, particularly in regions where hospitals, specialists, and diagnostic infrastructure remain limited. India’s growing smartphone penetration, increasing health awareness, and expanding digital health ecosystem are accelerating adoption of AI-driven healthcare solutions.
Industry analysts note that AI healthcare startups globally are increasingly focusing on remote diagnostics, AI-assisted triage, wearable monitoring, telemedicine integration, and predictive healthcare systems. Experts believe hybrid healthcare models like MediElaj may become increasingly important in emerging economies where healthcare demand is growing faster than physical healthcare infrastructure.
At the same time, healthcare specialists continue emphasizing the importance of regulatory oversight, clinical validation, and patient data protection for AI healthcare platforms. MedPredict stated that it has already implemented DPDP compliance measures, secured ISO 13485 certification, and initiated regulatory processes related to Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) approvals.
Healthcare observers believe platforms like MediElaj could play a major role in strengthening India’s preventive healthcare ecosystem if scaled effectively. However, experts also note that long term adoption will depend on public trust, clinical accuracy, affordability, and integration with broader healthcare systems.
