Parexel has acquired Vitrana, a provider of an AI-enabled End To End Pharmacovigilance (PV) Technology Platform, in a strategic move to strengthen its patient safety and drug monitoring capabilities.
The acquisition enhances Parexel’s ability to offer a Fully Integrated Pharmacovigilance Model, combining both technology and services under a single platform. This allows life sciences companies to manage drug safety processes more efficiently while navigating increasing regulatory complexity.
Vitrana’s platform leverages Artificial Intelligence And Intelligent Automation to streamline critical processes such as adverse event reporting, case processing, and safety data reconciliation. It is designed to be System Agnostic, meaning it can integrate with any existing safety database helping improve accuracy, reduce cycle times, and enhance operational efficiency.
With this acquisition, Parexel expands its AI-enabled capabilities across the Entire Clinical Development Lifecycle, from regulatory submissions and trial execution to post market safety monitoring. This positions the company as a more comprehensive partner for pharmaceutical and biotech firms seeking end to end clinical and safety solutions.
The integration of Vitrana into Parexel’s Patient Safety Services organization is expected to deliver Measurable Efficiency Gains, Improved Compliance, And Higher Quality Outcomes. During the transition phase, the business will operate as “Vitrana a Parexel Company,” ensuring continuity for existing customers.
Industry experts see this move as part of a broader shift toward AI-driven Pharmacovigilance, where automation and advanced analytics are increasingly used to handle growing volumes of safety data and regulatory requirements in drug development.
“With Vitrana, we can now offer a single partner for both PV technology and services.”
