Thermo Fisher Scientific has unveiled a new Integrated Platform For Scalable Cell Therapy Manufacturing, aimed at accelerating the development and commercialization of advanced therapies for diseases such as cancer and autoimmune conditions.
At the core of this innovation is the Gibco™ CTS™ DynaXS™ Single Use Bioreactor, a purpose built system designed to support Flexible, cGMP-Ready Cell Expansion from early stage research through clinical production. The platform enables developers to scale manufacturing efficiently while maintaining strict regulatory compliance and product quality.
Cell therapy manufacturing is inherently complex, requiring different process configurations and production scales at various stages of development. Thermo Fisher’s new solution addresses these challenges by offering a Stirred Tank, Single Use System that allows seamless transition from small experimental batches to larger clinical grade production runs.
A key strength of the platform lies in its integration within the broader Cell Therapy Systems (CTS) ecosystem, which supports the entire workflow from cell isolation and activation to expansion and downstream processing. This end to end integration enables companies to build Modular, Scalable Manufacturing Strategies with unified technical support and regulatory documentation.
The launch comes at a time when demand for cell therapies is rapidly growing, expanding beyond oncology into new therapeutic areas. Manufacturers are under pressure to adopt Automation Ready, Scalable Solutions that ensure consistency, reduce costs, and accelerate time to market.
By introducing this integrated platform, Thermo Fisher aims to simplify the scale-up process, enhance process control, and support the Next Generation of Personalized and Regenerative Therapies, positioning itself at the forefront of the evolving cell and gene therapy manufacturing landscape.
“Manufacturers want platforms that grow with them.”
