Samsung Health has integrated HealthTap’s virtual care service, enabling users in the U.S. to schedule, conduct, and follow up on virtual consultations right within the Samsung Health app itself.
Glimpse:
Through this new integration, Samsung Health users with Android in the U.S. can now access virtual primary and urgent care via HealthTap. They complete intake forms, join video visits, and review clinician notes without leaving the app. The collaboration leverages over 7 million active monthly users to push telehealth deeper into the wellness ecosystem.
Samsung and virtual-care provider HealthTap have teamed up to bring seamless telehealth access within the Samsung Health app in the U.S This integration means users no longer need a separate app to connect with licensed clinicians for primary or urgent care they can schedule and conduct visits directly via Samsung Health, complete with standard workflows like intake, video chat, and post-visit notes.
The strategic rationale is clear: Samsung gains a deeper “care layer” on top of its wellness and device ecosystem, while HealthTap taps Samsung’s footprint of 7 million monthly active users in the U.S. In a quote, HealthTap CEO Sean Mehra said:
“When individuals can connect with their physician in the same place they track their sleep, fitness and vitals, care becomes part of their daily routine instead of a separate event.”
Samsung’s own health ambitions already include features like sleep apnea detection via Galaxy Watch and integration of Walgreens prescription tracking into Health Records. With this move, Samsung edges closer to a connected care model where wellness data and clinical access live side by side in one app.
“Integrating virtual primary and urgent care directly into Samsung Health creates a true gateway to continuous care.”
