EpikDoc has introduced epikdoc Pro and its new Patient LLM tool an AI-enabled platform for patients and dentists to access second opinions, X-ray interpretation and streamlined workflows aiming to restore trust and transparency in dental services in India.
Glimpse:
The platform integrates AI diagnostics (X-ray analysis), workflow automation (voice-to-notes, CRM) and patient-facing features (second-opinion engine) to tackle challenges in the dental sector such as inconsistent treatment plans, unclear pricing and weak communication. EpikDoc reports already processing over 1.8 million AI-generated X-ray reads and supporting more than 13,000 second-opinions.
In a significant move for the dental-care sector, EpikDoc has launched epikdoc Pro along with its Patient LLM tool, marking a shift toward AI-enabled transparency and efficiency in oral health services. According to the company, the new platform offers patients access to independent second opinions, AI-driven X-ray interpretation and a unified interface connecting clinics, labs and patients.
The dental care ecosystem in India has long faced trust issues: non-standardised pricing, lack of clear diagnostics, and fragmented communication between dentists, labs and patients. EpikDocโs CEO, Dr Sanjeet Shanker, stated:
โWith epikdoc Pro and Patient LLM, we are not just adding features, we are rebuilding the foundation of trust in oral healthcare.โ
On the practitioner side, epikdoc Pro offers a suite of workflow tools: the X-ray-analysis engine supports colour-coded diagnostics; voice-to-note documentation cuts admin time; epikLabs connects labs and technicians for seamless operations. Clinics using the platform report revenue growth of up to 30 %, according to the company.
The platform has witnessed early traction: over 100 clinics onboarded, more than 640 dentists in the network, 13,000+ second-opinion requests and 1.8 million+ AI-based X-ray reads processed. EpikDoc sees an addressable market of USD 44 billion in dental services and is preparing for broader rollout across India.
As dental diagnostics becomes more digital and AI-driven, EpikDocโs model could offer a blueprint for transparency, efficiency and patient empowerment. The challenge ahead will be scaling technology adoption across smaller clinics, ensuring AI accuracy and maintaining affordability for patients.
โDentistry in India has long needed a bridge between patients, practitioners and labs. By making AI an active partner in preventive care, diagnosis and patient understanding, we are enabling dentists to focus on care while empowering patients with clarity and confidence.โ
