AvaSure’s Virtual Care Platform has received the coveted Toolbox designation from Epic EHR in the Inpatient Virtual Care category enabling tighter integration with Epic workflows and signalling a boost in scale-readiness for acute-care virtual services.
Glimpse:
With the Epic Toolbox designation, AvaSure can be more seamlessly embedded within hospital systems using Epic, making its virtual-care technology easier to adopt at scale. Hospitals running Epic can now deploy AvaSure’s infrastructure with fewer integration hurdles for virtual nursing, virtual sitting and video-enabled care in inpatient settings.
Belmont, MI AvaSure, a leader in virtual-care solutions for acute care, has announced that its Virtual Care Platform has been officially designated in Epic’s Toolbox under the “Inpatient Virtual Care” category. This recognition means the platform meets Epic’s criteria for deeply integrated solutions and is listed in Epic’s catalogue of compatible tools which can simplify procurement and deployment for Epic-using hospitals.
Under the agreement, hospitals using Epic can integrate AvaSure’s platform into their workflows more readily, enabling virtual-nurse support, remote observation, specialty consults and virtual rounds with smoother IT interoperability. AvaSure’s website highlighted the milestone, noting the nearness of standards-based integration, streamlined certification and improved operational fit.
For hospitals facing staffing shortages, increased acuity and rising costs, the ability to embed virtual-care workflows into the Epic system may accelerate adoption of remote nursing and patient monitoring models. AvaSure’s CEO Adam McMullin commented that this milestone “validates our platform at the enterprise-EHR level” and “positions us for broader scale across inpatient settings.”
While the Toolbox designation does not replace hospital due-diligence or regulatory / clinical validation, it removes certain friction such as custom interface builds or lengthy integration cycles thereby lowering the barrier for health-systems adopting virtual-care technology. The next step for AvaSure will be expansion of its partner network, metrics-driven outcomes studies and global rollout beyond the U.S. where Epic is widely used.
“Achieving the Epic Toolbox designation is more than a badge it signals that our virtual-care platform is ready for deep integration, operational scale and real-time deployment in inpatient environments.”
