Healthtech platform August AI has closed a $3 million seed funding round with backing from Accel and Claypond Capital (the family office of Ranjan Pai).
Founded in 2022 by Anuruddh Mishra, August AI aims to build a comprehensive AI-enabled healthcare companion that helps users understand symptoms, interpret medical reports, navigate care pathways, and monitor ongoing health. Users can upload their lab or imaging reports directly into the chatbot and receive clinician-style insights.
With the new capital, August AI plans to:
Strengthen the medical knowledge base and model accuracy
Enhance data infrastructure and multilingual support
Accelerate customer acquisition across regions
Improve AI features for report analysis, diagnostics, and personalized guidance
The platform is already serving an expanding user base reportedly in 3.5 million users across 160 countries, delivering interaction in multiple languages and health contexts.
Accel’s partner Subrata Mitra commented that the investment underscores their belief in AI’s potential to democratize access to reliable, contextualized health guidance especially in regions with stretched healthcare systems.
“We’re building not just an assistant, but a trusted, always-available guide through health journeys so people don’t wait days or weeks to get clarity.”
