Pype AI, a Bengaluru startup building agentic voice-AI systems for healthcare, has raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed round led by Kalaari Capital. The funds will support product development and U.S. expansion, as the company works to automate patient communication across hospitals.
Glimpse:
Pype AI’s voice-based AI agents are designed for hospitals and clinics to handle tasks like appointment scheduling, follow-ups, and 24/7 patient support. Designed for clinical reliability, these agents are trained on medical conversational datasets and already operate in several Indian healthcare facilities. The pre-seed round was led by Kalaari Capital with participation from Wyser Capital and Tenity.
Pype AI, a Bengaluru-based startup founded in 2024 by Dhruv Mehra and Ashish Tripathy, has raised $1.2 million in a pre-seed funding round.
The round was led by Kalaari Capital, with support from Wyser Capital and Tenity.
The company’s mission: to build voice-AI agents specifically trained for healthcare settings, enabling a seamless communication layer between hospitals and patients.
Pype AI’s agents can handle a wide range of routine but critical interactions from appointment booking and follow-up reminders to treatment preparation advice and 24/7 patient support.
These agents are trained on medical conversational datasets, and Pype emphasizes safety protocols: the AI system transfers to a human (e.g., a doctor or nurse) when needed and does not make medical prescriptions itself.
In parallel with its product development, Pype AI is building Whispey, an open-source observability platform with over 40 evaluations to ensure compliance, performance, and reliability.
The agents are also being integrated with EMR systems (such as Epic, Cerner, and Zocdoc), helping hospitals reduce missed appointments and streamline patient coordination.
The raise will also fuel Pype AI’s U.S. expansion, where it plans to onboard more hospital and clinic chains. The team aims to reach 50+ hospitals or clinics by mid-2026, according to its founders.
“Hospitals are losing patients, revenue, and trust because communication systems are broken Pype AI bridges that gap using AI to ensure every patient gets timely care while every doctor’s time is used effectively.”
