Healthium Medtech to Pump ₹ 150 Crore into Sri City, Expanding Its Manufacturing Footprint in Andhra Pradesh

Healthium Medtech has signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to build a second manufacturing unit in Sri City Industrial Park. The investment, totaling ₹ 150 crore, will be made in two phases to boost production of surgical and post-surgical medical devices.

Glimpse:

The new facility will be built on five acres at Sri City and is expected to generate 300 direct jobs by 2027, along with ~100 indirect jobs from supply chains and ancillary services. The expansion will strengthen Healthium’s presence in Andhra Pradesh, enhancing capacity for advanced manufacturing in surgical, wound-care and post-surgical device lines.

Healthium Medtech, a leading Indian medical-device manufacturer, has entered into a formal collaboration with the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board (APEDB) to scale up its operations in the state.

Under the agreement, the company will set up Healthium Medtech Unit 2 in Sri City Industrial Park with a committed investment of ₹ 150 crore, to be deployed in two phases.

The proposed facility spans five acres and is intended to significantly expand Healthium’s manufacturing capabilities adding production lines for surgical, post-surgical, and chronic-care devices. Healthium already has an existing manufacturing plant in Sri City (in the SEZ) that produces sutures and surgical meshes, and this new unit will build upon that base.

According to company leadership, the investment is aligned with Healthium’s long-term strategy to deepen its manufacturing footprint, optimize costs, and meet growing demand in India’s medtech market (which is projected to grow significantly in coming years).

The project is also expected to have a strong social impact: it will create 300 direct jobs by 2027, plus 100 indirect roles in supply chain, logistics, and ancillary services.

From the government’s side, the APEDB sees this as a major win for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ambitions in the medical devices sector. The new unit is expected to strengthen the state’s medtech ecosystem, bring in higher-skilled jobs, and drive ancillary development in Sri City.

“With our increased presence in Sri City, we are building a resilient, quality-driven manufacturing base that aligns with our mission to provide accessible, high-quality ‘Made in India’ medical devices.” Anish Bafna, CEO & Managing Director, Healthium Medtech
