KIMS Hospitals has announced plans to establish a new 500-bed multi speciality super speciality hospital in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, marking a major boost to healthcare infrastructure in the state’s capital region. Multiple reports confirmed that the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) signed a long term lease agreement with KIMS Hospitals for the project.
According to verified reports, APCRDA allotted nearly 2 acres of land in Nidamarru village, located in the Amaravati capital region, under a 60-year lease agreement. The proposed hospital is expected to provide advanced tertiary and quaternary healthcare services for Amaravati and surrounding districts.
The upcoming facility will reportedly include specialised departments such as cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, critical care, nephrology, organ transplantation, and mother & child care. Healthcare officials stated that the hospital aims to address the growing need for high-end corporate medical services in the region.
Reports from Andhra Pradesh development authorities and local media indicate that the project is part of broader efforts to transform Amaravati into a major urban and institutional hub with world class healthcare, education, and infrastructure facilities. Officials believe the hospital will reduce dependency on cities like Hyderabad and Chennai for advanced medical treatment.
KIMS Hospitals, formally known as Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, already operates a large healthcare network across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Kerala. Industry observers say the Amaravati expansion reflects the group’s aggressive growth strategy across southern India.
Some earlier regional reports had suggested even larger expansion ambitions for Amaravati and Vijayawada healthcare infrastructure, though the officially confirmed project currently focuses on the 500-bed facility under the APCRDA lease agreement.
Experts believe the project could generate significant employment opportunities while strengthening Amaravati’s position as an emerging healthcare destination in Andhra Pradesh.
“The proposed hospital will address a long standing need for advanced healthcare infrastructure in the region.”
