Bengaluru-based NeoSapien, incubated at Scaler Innovation Lab, has raised $2 million in seed funding led by Merak Ventures, with participation from prominent angels. The capital will accelerate development and launch of Neo 1 an always-on AI personal assistant wearable alongside NeoOS and NeoCore SDK, positioning India in the global personal AI assistant (PAIA) revolution.
Glimpse:
Founded in 2024 by brothers Dhananjay Yadav and Aryan Yadav, NeoSapien is building “second brain” technology: privacy-first, ambient AI wearables that record, transcribe, and provide contextual insights from daily life in over 100 languages. The funding supports team expansion, on-device intelligence enhancements, production scaling, market launch, and international growth amid rising global interest in non-intrusive AI companions.
NeoSapien, a promising Bengaluru startup shaping the future of ambient artificial intelligence, has closed a $2 million (₹18 crore) seed round led by Merak Ventures. The round saw strong participation from high-profile angel investors, including Awais Ahmed (Pixxel), Anupam Mittal (Shaadi.com), Sameer Mehta (boAt), Namita Thapar (Emcure), and Aprameya Radhakrishna (Koo).
The company’s flagship product, Neo 1, is an AI-native wearable designed as a persistent personal assistant. It continuously captures conversations and interactions, transcribes them, and delivers proactive, searchable insights via a companion app—acting as an external “second brain” to reduce cognitive overload. Supporting real-world multilingual use (over 100 languages), it emphasizes privacy and seamless, background operation.
Beyond the device, NeoSapien is developing NeoOS an underlying operating system for diverse AI wearables (pendants, watches, rings, glasses)and NeoCore, an SDK enabling third-party developers to build on its intelligence layer. This ecosystem approach positions NeoSapien to power future personal AI assistants (PAIAs) at scale.
The funds will drive hiring in AI and engineering, refine contextual on-device processing, ramp up manufacturing, and fuel go-to-market efforts including international expansion. Founded just a year ago and part of Scaler Innovation Lab’s inaugural cohort, the startup has moved rapidly from concept to consumer-ready hardware.
This investment underscores India’s emerging role in the global PAIA shift, where ambient intelligence promises to redefine human-AI interaction. As big tech explores similar voice pins and glasses, NeoSapien’s privacy-first, India-built alternative gains traction.
“Seldom has India had a chance to participate in a global, tectonic shift, but with PAIAs, it has a real shot at doing so. We believe NeoOS will power hundreds of millions of upcoming AI consumer wearables.”
