The National Stock Exchange (NSE), through its CSR arm, is investing ₹380 crore to build an 11-storey multi-specialty hospital block and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centre at ACTREC, Navi Mumbai marking one of India’s largest expansions in public cancer care.
Glimpse:
NSE and Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) have joined hands to build a G+11 hospital block and BMT unit at the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research & Education in Cancer (ACTREC), Navi Mumbai. The project, to be built by L&T, will feature a 60-bed BMT centre, accommodate over 1.3 lakh outpatient visits annually, and perform more than 600 bone marrow transplants a year. It is expected to be operational by July 2027.
The NSE Foundation has partnered with Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to establish a landmark ₹380 crore multispecialty cancer hospital block and Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Centre at ACTREC, located in Navi Mumbai. This project is being built as part of NSE’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The planned hospital will be an 11-storey building (G+11) with a built-up area of about 2.4 lakh square feet.
It will house 60 beds within the BMT unit and be capable of performing over 600 BMT procedures annually, in addition to treating approximately 1.3 lakh outpatients each year.
Construction is being handled by Larsen & Toubro under an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contract.
The facility will also serve patients who require treatment for comorbid conditions (such as cardiac, renal, pulmonary, neurological, and gastroenterological issues), which so far have been difficult for cancer patients at ACTREC due to its specialization.
Groundbreaking (bhoomi pujan) has already been conducted, and the project is slated to start operations by July 2027.
“This collaboration fills a critical gap in specialised care for cancer patients, especially those with other health conditions we aim to deliver high-quality, affordable treatment at scale.”
