Quick-commerce giant Zepto is piloting a home-diagnostics service in partnership with Orange Health Labs, enabling users to book blood tests directly within the Zepto app with sample pickup in 60 minutes and report delivery within six hours.
Glimpse:
To boost repeat engagement and revenue per user, Zepto is expanding its healthcare vertical beyond medicine delivery. Its diagnostics service offers tests like CBC, thyroid function, and full-body checkups, all bookable on the app for doorstep sample collection.
Zepto, the Indian quick-commerce platform best known for its rapid grocery delivery, is making a bold move: it’s extending its pharmacy business to include at-home diagnostic tests. The launch, currently in pilot mode in select cities, is part of Zepto’s strategy to deepen its presence in health and wellness.
For this service, Zepto has partnered with Orange Health Labs, a diagnostics company focused on fast, decentralized testing. Users can book tests like complete blood count (CBC), thyroid panels, and comprehensive full-body screenings. According to Zepto, sample collection happens within approximately 60 minutes, and test reports are delivered digitally within six hours.
The pricing of tests is also broad: basic tests such as fasting glucose may start as low as ~₹180, while ultra-comprehensive panels (after discounts) can go up to ₹11,999. Zepto’s goal is to make diagnostics highly accessible and convenient, leveraging its existing app and logistics infrastructure to offer users value and stickiness beyond grocery purchases.
By integrating diagnostics with its pharmacy vertical, Zepto is edging closer to becoming a one-stop healthcare app blending delivery speed with meaningful health services, while tapping into a high-margin and recurring category.
“With Zepto Diagnostics, we’re not just delivering medicines we’re delivering health insights to your doorstep, for less time and more trust.”
