Haryana Approves ₹2.39 Cr for Advanced Medical Equipment in Public Hospitals

Published: February 12, 2026

The Haryana government has sanctioned ₹2.39 crore for the procurement of critical medical equipment to strengthen diagnostic and treatment capabilities across public hospitals. The purchase includes high-end diagnostic tools, surgical instruments, and life-support systems aimed at improving patient care quality and reducing referral needs to private facilities.

Glimpse:

The approved funds will equip government medical colleges, district hospitals, and community health centres with modern diagnostic machines, ventilators, anaesthesia workstations, and specialized surgical tools. The initiative focuses on upgrading radiology, emergency, and operation theatre services, enabling faster diagnosis, better emergency response, and enhanced surgical outcomes for patients in Haryana’s public healthcare system.

The Haryana government has cleared a ₹2.39 crore proposal for the procurement of advanced medical equipment to bolster infrastructure in public hospitals and medical colleges. The decision, taken in early 2026, reflects the state’s ongoing push to modernize government healthcare facilities and make high-quality diagnostics and treatment more accessible to residents.

The equipment package includes: Advanced diagnostic imaging tools (such as ultrasound machines and digital X-ray systems) Critical care equipment (ventilators, multi-parameter monitors, and defibrillators) Surgical and anaesthesia systems (anaesthesia workstations, laparoscopic instruments, and OT lights) Laboratory upgrades (automated analysers and blood bank refrigerators)

These additions will directly benefit government-run institutions including medical colleges in Rohtak, Karnal, Faridabad, and Nalhar, as well as district and sub-divisional hospitals. The procurement is expected to reduce dependence on external referrals, shorten waiting times for investigations, and improve emergency and surgical care capacity.

The move aligns with Haryana’s broader efforts to strengthen public health delivery under schemes like Ayushman Bharat and state-specific initiatives. By investing in modern equipment, the government aims to bridge the gap between public and private sector care quality, particularly for low-income families who rely on government hospitals.

Officials stated that the equipment will be procured through transparent tendering processes, ensuring timely installation and maintenance support.

“This investment will bring world-class diagnostic and treatment facilities closer to the people of Haryana through our public hospitals.”
