Cigna Launches “Clearity” An AI-Powered, Copay-Only Health Plan for Predictable Care

Cigna Healthcare has introduced Clearity, a new copayment-only health plan that eliminates deductibles and coinsurance, powered by AI tools that provide upfront pricing, provider insights, and a simplified digital experience.

Glimpse:

Clearity uses a tiered copay structure so members know exactly what they’ll pay, without surprise costs. Built on Cigna’s Open Access Plus network, the plan offers five flexible design packages alongside AI-driven guidance helping customers estimate costs, choose providers, and access verified reviews.

Cigna Healthcare, part of The Cigna Group, has unveiled Clearity, a new health-insurance plan designed for simplicity and predictability. Unlike traditional plans, Clearity eliminates deductibles and coinsurance in favor of a tiered copay model, making costs more transparent for services ranging from office visits to imaging and surgery.

The plan is backed by Cigna’s AI-powered digital tools. An AI virtual assistant lets members ask questions in natural language about benefits, out-of-pocket costs, or care options and get personalized responses. Meanwhile, a “find care” tool helps users locate providers and quickly view their copay costs.

Cigna offers five different Clearity plan designs for employers, each with up to four in-network tiers and a single out-of-network tier. These options do not restrict network size, meaning users can pick based on cost-sharing preferences without compromising provider access.

Eva Borden, Chief Product Officer of Cigna Healthcare’s U.S. Employer business, says Clearity is meant to “help employers offer innovative solutions that meet the diverse needs of their workforce” by combining AI and clear costs.

Erin Lenox, President of National Accounts at Cigna, adds that the plan supports both “tech-savvy employees” who prefer pay-as-you-go health care and people who avoid care because of large deductibles.

“By combining our latest AI technology with simplified, transparent costs, we are helping employers offer innovative solutions Clearity is a simpler, more predictable way for customers to get the health care they need.”
