Healthify has launched an enhanced version of its AI health assistant Ria, now offering real-time conversational support via voice and camera allowing users to interact live, log meals with camera input, and receive personalized health insights across multiple data sources.
Glimpse:
Powered by advanced AI models (including OpenAI technology), the new version of Ria supports over 50 languages, including Indian and mixed-language inputs, and can pull data from wearables and trackers to generate insights on exercise, sleep, glucose and nutrition all through natural voice conversation and visual food recognition.
Healthify, a health-tech startup backed by Khosla Ventures, has introduced a major upgrade to its AI assistant Ria transforming it into a real-time conversational wellness coach. The updated Ria allows users to speak naturally via voice and use a camera to analyze food and log nutritional data directly into the app. This multimodal interaction reduces friction in tracking health behaviors and makes the experience more intuitive for users.
The new Ria leverages OpenAI’s conversational AI technologies to support multilingual voice interactions including support for several Indian languages and mixed inputs like Hinglish giving users the ability to have smooth, natural dialogue with the assistant. Beyond simple conversation, Ria aggregates and interprets data from fitness trackers, sleep monitors and glucose devices to deliver insights on activity patterns, sleep quality, readiness and glucose fluctuations, offering recommendations tailored to individual health goals.
One standout feature is Ria’s camera-based food logging: users can point their phone camera at meals or food labels to instantly get nutritional information and log meals without manual entry. Healthify even demonstrated real-time interaction via smart glasses, showing how the assistant can be used hands-free. The company believes this enhanced AI interaction will boost user engagement and make logging and habit formation significantly easier enabling users to ask for daily, weekly or monthly health overviews in natural spoken languages.
This upgrade reflects a broader trend in digital health, where AI assistants aim to provide proactive, personalized support across lifestyle and wellness domains expanding beyond text and manual entry into richer voice and visual experiences.
“With real-time voice and camera interaction, Ria becomes more than a tracker it’s a wellness companion that understands your lifestyle and helps you make healthier choices with minimal effort.”
