Egypt-based healthtech firm Rology has closed a growth funding round backed by global players including Philips Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, Sanofi Global Health Unit and MIT Solve a push aimed at expanding its AI-assisted teleradiology platform across MEA and boosting diagnostic capacity in underserved regions.
Glimpse:
The fresh capital will help Rology scale its smart case-distribution engine, AI-enabled reporting, and remote-radiologist network, enabling faster CT, X-ray, MRI and other imaging report turnaround for hospitals and diagnostic centers particularly where radiologists are scarce or imaging demand is high.
Rology, founded in 2017, operates a cloud-based teleradiology marketplace that connects hospitals and imaging centres with remote radiologists, enhanced by AI-driven workflow automation. The platform supports 12 radiology sub-specialties and 8 imaging modalities, and enables rapid diagnostic reporting even in resource-limited settings.
With its latest funding round, involving Philips Foundation, Johnson & Johnson Impact Ventures, Sanofi Global Health Unit, and MIT Solve, Rology plans to further expand across the Middle East and Africa scaling its infrastructure for higher imaging volumes and greater geographic reach.
Rology has already delivered over 1.3 million radiology reports and serves over 300 hospitals across 13 countries via a network of more than 200 radiologists. Their FDA-cleared platform reports high clinical accuracy (~99.89%) and promises up to 25% cost savings on diagnostic reporting a boost for imaging centres struggling with radiologist scarcity.
According to company leadership, this round isn’t just about scaling it’s part of a broader mission to democratize access to quality radiology diagnostics in underserved and low-resource regions, reducing delays in diagnosis and helping resolve imaging backlog across MEA.
“This round enables us to accelerate access to high-quality radiology reporting by expanding our AI-supported marketplace to more hospitals and imaging centres across MEA.”
