Function Health, a preventive-health platform based in Austin, has secured US$ 298 million in its Series B financing round, led by Redpoint Ventures and valuing the company at $2.5 billion. The funding will accelerate the development of its Medical Intelligence Lab (MI Lab) an advanced, clinician-guided AI engine that unifies data from bloodwork, imaging (MRI/CT), wearables, and electronic health records into a single health-insight platform. 

MI Lab is co-led by Dr. Dan Sodickson, Chief Medical Scientist, and Dr. Mark Hyman, Co-founder and CMO. The system aims not to replace physicians, but to amplify clinical expertise identifying early warning signals, spotting long-term trends, and suggesting personalized interventions in real time. 

With its previous acquisition of Ezra, Function now offers MRI and CT imaging as part of its membership model.  The newly funded AI tools will allow members to ask health-related questions via a private chat backed by their own data, follow AI-generated health protocols, and securely upload past lab results or medical reports to get more tailored insights. 

Function says it aims to democratize advanced diagnostics, making proactive health intelligence accessible and continuous for its members rather than episodic or reactive.
