Accenture Backs Ryght AI to Revolutionize Clinical Research with Agentic AI

Accenture has made a strategic investment in Ryght AI, a generative and agentic AI startup focused on accelerating clinical research. By embedding smart AI agents that assist with trial design, data curation, documentation, and regulatory alignment, the collaboration aims to make clinical trials more efficient, transparent, and scalable.

Glimpse:

Accenture Ventures has invested in Ryght AI, a startup developing agentic AI systems for clinical research transformation. Ryghtโ€™s platform uses autonomous AI agents to help design trial protocols, extract and analyze data, and support regulatory documentation tackling key bottlenecks in traditional clinical trial workflows. The funding will support product expansion, clinical validation, and global adoption, as Accenture and Ryght pursue a more efficient, AI-enabled future for therapeutic development.

Clinical research the engine that drives medical breakthroughsย  is notoriously complex, costly, and slow. Today, clinical teams juggle vast datasets, regulatory demands, protocol design, and documentation overhead, often spending months wrestling with repetitive, error-prone tasks. Enter Accenture Ventures and Ryght AIย  a new AI-powered partnership that aims to bring a much-needed dose of speed and intelligence to the process.

Accenture has invested in Ryght AI, a company building agentic AI systems for clinical research. While generative AI can generate text or insights from prompts, agentic AI goes a step further: it can act autonomously within defined workflows, make intermediate decisions, and coordinate tasks across complex pipelines.

What does that mean for clinical trials?

Smarter Protocol Design: AI agents can help draft and refine trial protocols based on prior data, eligibility criteria, risk stratification models, and regulatory expectationsย  reducing planning cycles.
Automated Data Insights: Instead of manual chart review or spreadsheet wrangling, agentic AI can extract, summarize, and interpret data from EHRs, registries, and literature, accelerating signal detection.
Regulatory Documentation: AI agents may assist in generating standardized regulatory submissions, informed consent templates, audit trails, and compliance checklistsย  reducing bottlenecks.
Workflow Orchestration: Rather than siloed tools, Ryghtโ€™s approach intends to embed autonomous AI helpers that can coordinate tasks, track milestones, and notify teams when human input or review is needed.

Accentureโ€™s investment signals confidence that agentic AI can help clinical research evolve from artisanal, labour-intensive workflows to scalable, intelligent operations. For pharma sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), and life science innovators, the potential benefits are clear: faster timelines, improved data quality, lower administrative costs, and more predictable outcomes.

But itโ€™s not about replacing human expertiseย  rather, itโ€™s about enhancing it. Clinical research demands judgment, ethics, and context awareness. The idea behind Ryghtโ€™s AI agents is to free skilled researchers from repetitive tasks so they can focus on high-value decisions: interpretation, patient safety, design strategy, and scientific insight.

Of course, bringing AI deeper into regulated research environments raises questionsย  validation of models, data privacy, auditability, and regulatory acceptance. These are not trivial challenges. But with a global partner like Accentureย  which brings systems integration, healthcare and life sciences strategy, and real-world implementation experienceย  Ryght AI is positioned to navigate this landscape with credibility.

In an era where precision medicine is increasingly needed, shortening development cycles is not just about costsย  itโ€™s about getting treatments to patients sooner. Accenture and Ryght AI are betting that agentic AI will be a core part of that acceleration.

โ€œBy combining Accentureโ€™s global scale and healthcare expertise with Ryghtโ€™s agentic AI innovation, we have an opportunity to reimagine clinical research workflows making them faster, more efficient, and more intelligent.โ€
