The Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) has introduced a first-of-its-kind specialised facility in Eastern India: the Lung Nodule Evaluation & Advanced Management Clinic. The dedicated centre is designed to deliver comprehensive care for patients with lung nodules  abnormal spots identified through imaging that may signify conditions ranging from benign changes to early cancers.

Lung nodules are commonly detected incidentally on chest imaging, and distinguishing their nature requires careful evaluation. The new clinic brings together high-range imaging modalities, expert radiology interpretation, pulmonary function assessment and multidisciplinary input, ensuring a coordinated approach to diagnosis and management. This includes targeted imaging protocols, biomarker interpretation and personalised care recommendations to guide further workups or interventions.

CMRI leadership highlighted that such an integrated service fills a critical gap in thoracic care, addressing both timely diagnosis and tailored treatment planning.
