Eros Innovation, through its Eros LifeScience and Eros GenAI arms, has partnered with the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology (CCE) at Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) to launch Gujarat CARES 2025 a landmark population-scale AI initiative for preventive healthcare. This longitudinal study expands the Indian Study of Healthy Ageing (ISHA) to generate ethical, actionable insights for early detection, personalized risk assessment, and national health policy formulation.
Glimpse:
Gujarat CARES 2025 leverages Eros GenAI a sovereign AI platform trained on over 1.5 trillion tokens from Indian lifestyle and cultural data and the AI Health Graph for digital biomarkers and population dashboards. Conducted across Barshi, Varanasi, and Goa by CCE’s Molecular Epidemiology and Population Genomics divisions, it aims to enable early warnings, preventive strategies, and healthier ageing aligning AI innovation with India’s public health priorities.
Eros Innovation has unveiled Gujarat CARES 2025, a transformative AI-powered preventive healthcare initiative in collaboration with the Centre for Cancer Epidemiology (CCE) at Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai. This large-scale, longitudinal population study represents a fusion of ethical artificial intelligence and epidemiological research to shift healthcare from reactive treatment to proactive prevention.
Gujarat CARES 2025 expands the ongoing Indian Study of Healthy Ageing (ISHA), led by CCE’s Molecular Epidemiology and Population Genomics teams across sites in Barshi (Maharashtra), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Goa. By integrating genetic, environmental, digital, and behavioural signals over time, the study generates high-quality evidence for:
Early detection strategies for cancers and chronic diseases.
Personalized risk assessment through digital biomarkers.
Population-level dashboards for state/national health planning.
Informed public policy to promote healthier longevity.
Central to the initiative is Eros GenAI, a sovereign, ethical AI foundation model trained on more than 1.5 trillion tokens from structured Indian datasets reflecting lifestyle, behaviour, and culture. Complementing this is the AI Health Graph from Eros LifeScience, enabling preventive health scoring and real-time insights.
Dr. Rajesh Dixit, Director of CCE, TMC, hailed the partnership: “Gujarat CARES 2025 represents a major step forward in population-scale preventive health research… Their advanced AI platforms add a powerful new dimension to long-term epidemiological research.”
Manju Lulla, Chairperson of Eros LifeScience, emphasized the human impact: “Every family deserves early warning, not late discovery… With Eros LifeScience and Eros GenAI, we now want India to lead in keeping people healthier for longer.”
Dr. Pankaj Chaturvedi, Director of ACTREC, added: “This research… will generate high-quality evidence that will support early detection strategies, personalized risk assessment, and the formulation of informed national health policies.”
This collaboration exemplifies public-private synergy in aligning cutting-edge AI with national priorities, potentially influencing preventive strategies nationwide.
“Gujarat CARES 2025 represents a major step forward in population-scale preventive health research enabling high-quality, actionable insights that can meaningfully shape public health policy in India.”
