Samsung Unveils Brain Health Feature for Early Dementia Detection on Smart Devices

Samsung has launched a new AI-powered brain health feature aimed at early detection of cognitive decline and dementia risk. The tool integrates seamlessly with smart devices, using tests and analytics to help users monitor memory, attention and brain function trends over time.

Glimpse:

The new brain health feature combines cognitive assessments with intuitive dashboards and longitudinal tracking, helping individuals and caregivers identify early warning signs of cognitive impairment. Samsung plans to roll out the feature globally on compatible devices and health platforms, supporting proactive brain health management.

Samsung has introduced a dedicated brain health feature designed to support early detection of cognitive decline and dementia risk, marking an expansion of preventive healthcare tools available on its smart devices. The feature incorporates artificial intelligence and validated cognitive tests to assess memory, attention, processing speed and other key aspects of brain function.

Users can complete brief assessments on their smartphones or wearables, with results presented through an easy to interpret dashboard that shows cognitive metrics and trends over time. The system is designed to identify deviations from baseline performance that could signal early cognitive changes, prompting users to seek professional evaluation when appropriate.

Samsung’s brain health feature is integrated with its broader health ecosystem, allowing secure tracking of results, personalized insights, and reminders for regular checkins. It also offers educational content on lifestyle factors such as sleep, exercise and nutrition known to influence cognitive health, encouraging proactive wellness practices.

Samsung leadership said the goal is to empower users with tools that support long term brain health awareness and early engagement with care providers when cognitive concerns arise. The feature is intended to complement clinical evaluation, not replace professional diagnosis, and is backed by partnerships with cognitive science experts to ensure assessment quality and relevance.

The unveiling of this new capability reflects a growing trend among tech companies to embed health oriented AI features into consumer devices, helping bridge the gap between everyday self-monitoring and formal medical care. As dementia and age related cognitive conditions rise globally, tools that help identify early risk factors could support earlier intervention and better long-term outcomes.

“Our new brain health feature puts early cognitive insight into the hands of users, encouraging proactive awareness and lifestyle habits that can support brain function long before symptoms emerge.”
