Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has spearheaded a landmark collaboration with Lord’s Mark Industries to introduce advanced AI solutions across the state’s public hospitals. The partnership, formalized in early 2026, marks one of the most ambitious state-level AI deployments in Indian healthcare, aiming to modernize government facilities from primary health centers to district hospitals.
Lord’s Mark Industries will roll out a suite of AI-powered tools tailored for public-sector needs, including: AI-assisted diagnostics for radiology, pathology, and common conditions Predictive analytics to forecast disease outbreaks, patient influx, and resource needs Remote monitoring & telemedicine to extend specialist care to remote areas Smart hospital management systems for inventory, bed allocation, and workflow automation
The initiative focuses on reducing diagnostic delays, minimizing errors, optimizing staff time, and improving treatment outcomes particularly for non-communicable diseases, maternal health, and infectious disease management. It aligns with Assam’s broader digital health push and the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, ensuring interoperability with national platforms such as ABHA and eSanjeevani.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has emphasized that AI will serve as a force multiplier for Assam’s doctors and health workers, especially in rural and underserved districts. The project includes training programs for medical staff to adopt AI tools confidently and ethically.
Lord’s Mark Industries brings proven AI healthcare solutions already deployed in other states, combined with local customization to address Assam’s unique demographic and geographic challenges. The partnership is expected to serve as a model for other states looking to accelerate AI adoption in public healthcare without massive infrastructure overhauls.
“AI will not replace doctors it will empower them to save more lives, especially in our remotest corners.”
