Cambridge Cognition, a UK-based leader in digital cognitive assessment tools, has partnered with Ivory Health, an Indian digital health platform, to expand access to early cognitive screening in India. The collaboration integrates Cambridge Cognitionโs validated digital tests (including CANTAB and remote episodic memory assessments) into Ivory Healthโs ecosystem, enabling large scale, affordable screening for mild cognitive impairment, dementia risk, and neurodegenerative conditions in community, primary care, and telehealth settings.
Glimpse:
Announced on January 26, 2026, the partnership aims to deploy Cambridge Cognitionโs AI-supported cognitive batteries through Ivory Healthโs network of clinics, corporate wellness programmes, and tele-health channels. The initiative targets early detection of cognitive decline in Indiaโs ageing population and high risk groups (diabetes, hypertension, stroke survivors), with multilingual support and offline capable modules for rural reach. Initial pilots in urban and semi urban areas will assess feasibility, accuracy, and impact on referral pathways to neurologists and geriatric specialists.
Cambridge Cognition, the Cambridge (UK)-headquartered company behind the gold-standard CANTAB digital cognitive assessment platform, has entered a strategic partnership with Ivory Health, one of Indiaโs fastest growing digital first health platforms, to bring scalable early cognitive screening to millions of Indians. The collaboration, launched on January 26, 2026, addresses the rapidly rising burden of dementia and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in India driven by an ageing population, increasing diabetes and vascular risk factors, and limited access to specialist neurology services in non-metro areas.
The partnership integrates Cambridge Cognitionโs suite of sensitive, digital cognitive tests including CANTAB (for episodic memory, executive function, and attention) and remote episodic memory assessments directly into Ivory Healthโs app and clinic network. These tools are designed to detect subtle cognitive changes years before traditional clinical scales (such as MMSE or MoCA) show impairment, enabling earlier intervention through lifestyle modification, risk factor control, and timely specialist referral.
Ivory Health will roll out the cognitive screening module in phases:
- Initial deployment in urban corporate wellness programmes and high-volume clinics in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai
- Multilingual (English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil) and voice-guided interfaces for low-literacy users
- Offline-capable assessments for rural and semi-urban outreach via Ivoryโs network of field health workers
- Seamless integration with ABDM/ABHA for longitudinal tracking and secure sharing with neurologists
The tools have been culturally and linguistically adapted for Indian populations, with validation studies already underway to confirm performance across diverse socioeconomic and educational backgrounds. Early pilot data from similar low resource settings has shown high acceptability, completion rates above 90%, and strong correlation with gold standard neuropsychological testing.
Dr. Kiri Granger, Chief Scientific Officer at Cambridge Cognition, said: โIndia faces one of the fastest growing dementia burdens globally, yet early detection remains limited outside major cities. By partnering with Ivory Health, we can bring scientifically validated, scalable cognitive screening to the point of care empowering primary physicians and community health workers to identify at risk individuals much earlier.โ
Ivory Health leadership added: โOur mission is to make preventive and proactive health accessible to every Indian. Combining Cambridge Cognitionโs world-class cognitive tools with our digital reach and field network will help millions stay ahead of cognitive decline especially in diabetes and hypertension hotspots where vascular contributions to dementia are significant.โ
The initiative aligns with Indiaโs National Programme for Health Care of the Elderly and the growing emphasis on preventive neurology under Ayushman Bharat. It also supports the broader goal of integrating cognitive health into routine primary care and NCD screening programmes.
The partnership is expected to generate real world evidence on the feasibility and impact of large-scale digital cognitive screening in India, with plans to publish findings and advocate for inclusion in national health guidelines.
โEarly detection of cognitive decline isnโt just about diagnosis itโs about giving people years of better quality life through timely intervention. This partnership makes that possible at scale in India.โ
