Optum, Arcadia, and Kivo Health have launched an AI-powered virtual lung rehabilitation program in California. The initiative combines advanced AI, data analytics, and virtual care technology to deliver personalised, home-based pulmonary rehabilitation for patients with chronic respiratory conditions like COPD, asthma, and post COVID lung issues.
Glimpse:
Patients can now access tailored exercise plans, real time monitoring through connected devices, and continuous coaching from respiratory therapists all from home. The program aims to improve breathing capacity, exercise tolerance, and quality of life while reducing the need for frequent hospital visits.
Optum has teamed up with Arcadia and Kivo Health to introduce a smart virtual pulmonary rehabilitation program in California. This new offering uses artificial intelligence to create customised rehabilitation plans based on each patient’s condition, progress, and daily data from wearables.
The program is particularly beneficial for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and lingering lung problems after COVID-19. Participants receive guided exercises, breathing techniques, and ongoing support through a mobile app, allowing them to recover and manage their condition comfortably from home.
By blending clinical expertise, powerful data analytics, and virtual delivery, the collaboration aims to make effective lung rehabilitation more accessible, convenient, and results oriented for a larger number of patients.
“This program brings together the best of clinical care, data intelligence, and virtual technology to help patients breathe better and live fuller lives without constant hospital visits.”
