India’s 1st MonkeyPox PCR Test Kit launched by Erba Transasia from Andhra Pradesh

Erba Transasia, a global major in providing innovative diagnostic solutions has taken a significant step forward in public health by launching India's first indigenously manufactured ErbaMDx MonkeyPox RT-PCR Kit.  These test kits are produced at Transasia Diagnostic Pvt Ltd. (TDPL) in the Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ) Visakhapatnam with a manufacturing of capability of 50 million test kits per month. 

Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) has approved the Monkeypox RT-PCR kit after validation and it received the emergency authorization from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) under operating under the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.

The newly released Kit represents a major advancement in diagnostic technology, offering a highly accurate confirmatory test kit and is a timely released armor to detect Mpox in the light of Monkeypox being declared as a public health emergency of international concern by WHO. The kit is designed to eliminate cross-reactivity with other orthopox viruses or organisms, further enhancing its diagnostic precision.
