UST Partners with IIT Madras Incubation Cell! Supercharging Deep-Tech Startups in Healthcare & Life Sciences

UST, a leading digital transformation company, has signed an MoU with IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC) to accelerate innovation in healthcare and life sciences, offering mentorship, funding, pilots, and go-to-market support to high-potential deep-tech startups through joint programs and challenges.

Glimpse:

The partnership leverages IITMIC’s ecosystem hosting over 500 deep-tech startups valued at $6 billion+with UST’s global expertise. It kicked off with the “Pitch to Win: Pharma 4.0 Edition” challenge (Pfizer as knowledge partner, AWS as tech partner), attracting 90+ applications winners Nucleo-Vir Therapeutics, ChemBioSens, and LN Infosphere received cash prizes and up to ₹45 lakh conditional funding plus strategic support.

UST has forged a strategic alliance with IIT Madras Incubation Cell (IITMIC), India’s premier deep-tech startup hub, to propel research-driven innovation in healthcare and life sciences. The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a robust framework for joint initiatives, startup engagement, and industry partnerships in high-impact areas.

IITMIC, anchored at IIT Madras, supports over 500 deep-tech startups across medtech, biotech, AI, and more, with a combined valuation exceeding $6 billion. By pairing this academic depth with UST’s global reach and mentorship, the collaboration creates a scalable pathway to identify promising ventures, provide targeted funding and guidance, expand proofs-of-concept, forge alliances, and unlock market opportunities.

The partnership debuted with the Pitch to Win: Pharma 4.0 Edition innovation challenge, drawing over 90 applications from 32 cities. Top finalists underwent intensive mentorship before pitching to a jury. Nucleo-Vir Therapeutics won first place, followed by ChemBioSens (runner-up) and LN Infosphere Tech Transformers (second runner-up), earning cash prizes of ₹1.25 lakh, ₹75,000, and ₹50,000 respectively plus UST’s conditional funding up to ₹45 lakh and go-to-market assistance.

This initiative reflects a broader commitment to bridging lab innovations with real-world impact, nurturing founders to build transformative solutions in India’s thriving Life Sciences 4.0 ecosystem.
