Haryana’s health minister Arti Singh Rao has introduced a suite of IT-driven programmes from vehicle-tracking for mobile health teams to a real-time anemia monitoring dashboard aimed at improving accountability, transparency and efficiency in community-level healthcare delivery across the state.
Glimpse:
Key among the initiatives is a “Vehicle Tracking and Log Management System” that logs odometer readings and photographs at the start and end of each mobile-health team’s day, plus at each visited site. This enables district- and state-level administrators to monitor vehicle usage and team activity daily.
The government of Haryana has rolled out a set of ambitious IT-based health-system reforms aimed at strengthening community-level healthcare monitoring, resource management and service delivery. The initiatives were announced by the state’s Health Minister Arti Singh Rao.
One flagship move is the launch of a digital Vehicle Tracking and Log Management System for mobile health teams. Under the new protocol, each team must record odometer readings and submit photographs at the start and end of each working day, as well as at every field visit. This allows administrators at district and state levels to verify team movements and ensure accountability a significant step toward curbing inefficiencies and improving response tracking.
In parallel, the government has enhanced the state’s anemia-control programme by upgrading the AMH digital application. The revamped system now captures detailed treatment data for beneficiaries, tracks referrals, and monitors follow-up care. Through a newly built real-time dashboard, healthcare officials can now monitor anemia prevalence, analyse test results over time, and quickly identify regions or populations where services are lagging especially important for maternal and child health.
Additionally, these reforms are part of a broader push under the state’s health-infrastructure overhaul, which recently approved procurement of new medical equipment, expansion of medical facilities, and upgrades to hospitals and health centres across Haryana.
“With real-time data and digital oversight, we are bringing transparency and accountability to community health and ensuring that no patient falls through the cracks.”
