Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee is launching a new seven-story, nearly $300 million patient tower adding state-of-the-art inpatient capacity, modern patient rooms, expanded critical-care facilities and upgraded infrastructure to serve Muskogee and surrounding rural communities better.

The new tower will add about 290,000 square feet of clinical space, including 158 new inpatient rooms, expanded ICU and progressive-care units, larger patient rooms (nearly 50% bigger than before), a new main entrance and lobby, a chapel, family waiting areas, and updated diagnostics and technology infrastructure. The project also brings significant local economic impact, including creation of new jobs and increased economic output for Muskogee County.
The expansion of Saint Francis Hospital Muskogee operated by Saint Francis Health System represents the largest healthcare investment in Muskogee’s history. Construction on the project began in 2022; the new tower is a seven-story structure with a modern design by architecture firm LEO A. Daly and interior planning by GH2 Architects.
When completed, the expansion will deliver 158 additional inpatient beds, significantly increasing the hospital’s capacity. Critical-care capacity will be enhanced with larger ICU and progressive-care units, and patient rooms will be redesigned to offer more space and comfort including dedicated family space.
Beyond capacity, the new tower will feature a new main entrance and lobby for easier access, a hospital chapel, upgraded operating theatres and diagnostic facilities (including modern radiology and oncology infrastructure), improved patient and visitor amenities like family waiting zones and expanded parking.
Hospital leadership indicates that in addition to improved care delivery, the expansion will boost local employment and economic activity creating over 100 new hospital jobs through operational staffing, and contributing more than US $25 million annually in economic output for Muskogee County. Saint Francis has set early December 2025 as the target to begin admitting patients into the new tower.
