Global imaging technology leader Agfa has introduced Durami, a mobile X-ray platform that brings enhanced diagnostic capabilities directly to patients  whether in hospital wards, emergency departments or peripheral care environments. The new system is aimed at improving front-line imaging efficiency by combining portability with high imaging performance.

Durami’s design emphasises ease of use and flexibility. Its lightweight, mobile architecture allows radiographers to bring X-ray imaging to the patient’s bedside or other locations where traditional fixed units aren’t feasible. This capability is particularly valuable in urgent care, orthopaedics, geriatrics and trauma settings  where minimizing patient movement can reduce discomfort and risk.

The platform pairs Agfa’s imaging expertise with enhanced software processing, delivering high-resolution images that clinicians can review quickly. Intelligent tools support image optimisation and standardised workflows, helping reduce repeat scans and improving diagnostic confidence. The solution also advocates seamless integration with digital radiography systems and hospital information systems, ensuring that captured images and related data flow smoothly into electronic health records and PACS (picture archiving and communication systems).

According to Agfa spokespersons, Durami reflects a broader trend in medical imaging toward mobile, patient-centric solutions that support faster decision-making and improved clinical outcomes. By enabling reliable imaging wherever care is delivered, the system aims to enhance flexibility for imaging teams and expand access to essential diagnostic services across departments.
