The Lunglei District Administration in Mizoram has launched ‘LushaAI Healthy Lunglei’, an AI-powered mobile app featuring a Mizo-language chatbot to simplify healthcare access. Glimpse:
‘LushaAI Healthy Lunglei’ integrates AI agents and a native Mizo chatbot to help users locate health facilities, check doctor schedules, view pharmacy stocks, upload medical reports, receive appointment reminders, and book OPD consultations. It supports ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) registrations, facilitates medicine purchases via connected pharmacies, and ensures data security under DISHA guidelines. Launched on January 29, 2026, by V. Malsawmtluanga, Vice Chairman of the Lunglei High Powered Committee, the app is available on Android and iOS and includes a web dashboard for health staff, aiming to enhance access under the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme.
In a forward-thinking move to bridge healthcare access in remote areas, the Lunglei District Administration in Mizoram has officially launched ‘LushaAI Healthy Lunglei’ an AI-driven mobile application designed to digitize and streamline public health services. Unveiled on January 29, 2026, at the DC Conference Hall in Lunglei, the app stands out as one of the first of its kind in the North Eastern region, featuring a conversational AI chatbot that responds in the Mizo language.
Developed by the LushAITech team using cutting-edge AI models and agentic AI capabilities, the app is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms. It prioritizes user-friendly features tailored to local needs: residents can locate nearby health facilities, view real-time doctors’ consultation schedules at government hospitals and centres, check pharmacy stock availability, upload and access medical reports, receive automated appointment reminders, and book OPD consultations in advance all through an intuitive interface or via the Mizo chatbot for queries and bookings.
A key highlight is seamless integration with national health initiatives: the app enables direct ABHA registrations, allowing users to create their Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts easily. It also connects to registered pharmacies for medicine purchases and provides access to essential health information, reducing barriers for patients in rural and hilly areas of Lunglei district.
The platform complies with the Digital Information Security in Healthcare Act (DISHA), safeguarding privacy and data security. A complementary web-based dashboard empowers healthcare administrators and staff to manage records, monitor usage, and improve service delivery efficiently.
The launch aligns with the state’s strong emphasis on universal healthcare under the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme. V. Malsawmtluanga, who inaugurated the app, praised its potential to transform access, calling it a milestone for both Lunglei and Mizoram. By leveraging AI in the local language, the initiative promotes inclusivity, reduces travel for routine needs, and supports faster, more informed healthcare decisions.
This rollout reflects growing momentum in India’s North East for AI-enabled public services, blending digital infrastructure with cultural relevance to serve remote communities effectively.
“The app would greatly ease access to healthcare services for residents of Lunglei and surrounding areas. It is a significant milestone not only for Lunglei but for Mizoram as a whole, and it is among the first of its kind in the North Eastern region.”
