Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava conducted a detailed review of facilities and ongoing development works at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh. The high level visit focused on assessing the current status of infrastructure, clinical services, and academic facilities at the institute.
During her inspection, the Secretary visited several key areas including the trauma centre, super speciality blocks, hostels for students and residents, and staff quarters. She interacted with the institute’s leadership and officials to understand challenges being faced in project execution and service delivery.
Srivastava stressed the importance of completing all pending infrastructure projects on priority so that the institute can deliver comprehensive healthcare services and quality medical education to the people of Andhra Pradesh and surrounding regions. She directed officials to improve coordination among various executing agencies and ensure strict monitoring of timelines.
AIIMS Mangalagiri is one of the newer additions to the prestigious network of AIIMS institutions in the country. Once fully operational, it is expected to significantly enhance tertiary care availability, medical education, and research activities in the region.
