Iswarya Hospital in Chennai has launched a state of the art Comprehensive Cancer Center equipped with cutting edge AI-powered technologies for early detection, precise diagnosis, personalised treatment planning, and real-time therapy monitoring. The facility aims to elevate cancer care standards in Tamil Nadu by combining multi-disciplinary expertise with AI-driven tools to improve survival rates, reduce treatment toxicity, and make advanced oncology more accessible to patients across southern India.
Glimpse:
Inaugurated on January 28, 2026, the Iswarya Comprehensive Cancer Center features AI-assisted mammography & ultrasound for breast cancer screening, deep learning models for CT/MRI/PET-CT interpretation, pathology slide analysis for faster tumour grading, and predictive analytics for treatment response and recurrence risk. The 100+ bed centre includes dedicated radiation oncology suites, medical oncology wards, surgical oncology theatres, bone marrow transplant unit, and palliative care services. It targets serving over 10,000 new cancer patients annually, with special focus on affordable care under government schemes.
Iswarya Hospital, a leading multi-specialty chain in Chennai, has officially opened its new Comprehensive Cancer Center, integrating advanced artificial intelligence technologies at every stage of cancer care. The inauguration, held on January 28, 2026, was attended by senior clinicians, government officials, and patient advocates, marking a significant milestone in the hospital’s journey to become a regional leader in oncology.
The 100+ bed cancer centre is designed as a one-stop facility offering end to end care from screening and diagnosis to surgery, chemotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, bone marrow transplantation, and palliative/supportive services. Key AI-powered innovations include:
- AI-assisted mammography and ultrasound for early breast cancer detection with higher sensitivity in dense breasts
- Deep learning algorithms for automated analysis of CT, MRI, and PET-CT scans to detect small lesions, stage cancers, and assess treatment response
- AI-enhanced digital pathology for rapid slide analysis, tumour grading, biomarker quantification, and molecular profiling support
- Predictive models that forecast treatment outcomes, recurrence risk, and toxicity profiles to enable truly personalised therapy plans
- Real-time monitoring tools during radiation and chemotherapy to detect adverse events early
These technologies are integrated with the hospital’s EHR system and ABDM-compliant ABHA framework, ensuring seamless data flow, longitudinal tracking, and continuity of care.
Dr. [Lead Oncologist / Hospital Director] said: “Cancer outcomes in India improve dramatically with early detection and precise treatment. By embedding AI at every step from screening to survivorship we are not just treating cancer; we are fighting it smarter, faster, and with greater compassion. This centre is our commitment to making world-class oncology accessible right here in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu.”
The centre will offer cashless treatment under Ayushman Bharat, CMCHIS, and leading private insurers, with dedicated financial counselling and support programmes for underprivileged patients. It also includes a strong focus on preventive oncology (screening camps, genetic counselling, lifestyle interventions) and survivorship care.
The launch aligns with Tamil Nadu’s broader push to strengthen cancer care infrastructure and reduce the burden on overcrowded tertiary centres in Chennai and beyond. Iswarya plans to expand similar AI-enabled cancer services to its other facilities in Coimbatore, Madurai, and Tiruppur in the coming years.
“AI doesn’t replace oncologists it empowers them. With these tools, we can see what the eye might miss, predict what the future holds, and personalise care like never before giving every patient the best possible chance.”
