Glimpse:
IKS Health has announced the acquisition of TruBridge Inc. for up to $565 million its largest deal to date. The move will expand its presence in the US, particularly in rural and community hospitals, by combining EHR systems and revenue cycle management with AI-driven healthcare solutions.
Mumbai based IKS Health has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire US healthcare technology company TruBridge Inc. for up to $565 million, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion strategy.
The acquisition will be executed through IKS Health’s US subsidiary and is expected to close in 2026, subject to regulatory and shareholder approvals. The deal is largely financed through debt, with committed funding from major global banks.
TruBridge is a well established provider of healthcare IT solutions tailored for rural and community hospitals in the United States. It offers services such as electronic health records (EHR), revenue cycle management (RCM), analytics, and patient engagement tools helping hospitals improve operational efficiency and financial performance.
By acquiring TruBridge, IKS Health aims to expand into the “system of record” segment core hospital software like EHR while combining it with its existing AI-driven “system of action” capabilities. This integration is expected to create a more comprehensive platform that not only records patient data but actively improves clinical workflows and decision making.
The combined entity is expected to serve over 2,000 healthcare organizations and more than 150,000 clinicians, significantly increasing IKS Health’s scale and reach in the US market.
A key strategic focus of the deal is the underserved rural healthcare segment, where hospitals often face financial and operational challenges. TruBridge already supports hundreds of such hospitals, making it a valuable addition to IKS Health’s portfolio.
Industry experts note that this acquisition reflects a broader trend of Indian healthcare technology companies expanding globally and moving toward integrated, AI-powered healthcare platforms. It also highlights growing opportunities in improving efficiency and access in rural healthcare systems.
“By combining EHR systems with AI-driven solutions, we move from recording data to solving real healthcare challenges.”
