Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a powerful address at the AI Impact Summit 2026, strongly endorsing artificial intelligence as a transformative force for Indiaโ€™s healthcare system. He highlighted AIโ€™s potential to enable early disease detection, personalized medicine, remote care in rural areas, and efficient public health management, urging accelerated adoption under the vision of โ€œAI for All.โ€

In his keynote at the AI Impact Summit 2026, PM Modi emphasized that AI will be central to achieving universal health coverage, reducing diagnostic delays, and strengthening disease surveillance. He spotlighted government initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, AI-enabled tools for TB and diabetes screening, and upcoming national AI missions in health. The PM called for ethical, inclusive AI deployment to ensure benefits reach every citizen, especially in underserved regions.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and addressed the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, positioning artificial intelligence as a cornerstone of Indiaโ€™s healthcare transformation. Speaking to an audience of global tech leaders, policymakers, researchers, and health innovators, the PM outlined how AI can bridge long-standing gaps in access, affordability, and quality of care across the country.

Key highlights from the Prime Ministerโ€™s speech include:

AI for early detection & preventionย praising tools already in use for tuberculosis screening, diabetic retinopathy, and cervical cancer detection through government programs Strengthening rural & last-mile careย leveraging AI-powered telemedicine, remote monitoring, and predictive analytics to bring specialist-level care to remote villages Personalized & precision medicineย using AI to tailor treatments, optimize drug regimens, and improve outcomes in oncology, cardiology, and rare diseases Public health intelligenceย real-time disease surveillance, outbreak prediction, and resource allocation powered by AI under the National One Health Mission Ethical & inclusive AIย stressing the need for transparent, bias-free models and data privacy safeguards aligned with Indiaโ€™s digital health policies

PM Modi reiterated the governmentโ€™s commitment through flagship initiatives: Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) creating secure, interoperable health records for AI applications National AI Strategy with dedicated health verticals under IndiaAI Mission BIRAC and DBT funding supporting AI-medtech startups and translational research

The address served as a clarion call for collaboration between government, industry, academia, and startups to make India a global leader in responsible AI for healthcare. The PM concluded by stating that technology must serve humanity, with AI ensuring no Indian is left behind in the journey toward health for all.
