Bengaluru-based healthtech startup Praan Health has successfully raised ₹ 8.5 crore in a seed funding round. The round was led by Rainmatter Investments, the investment arm of Zerodha’s founder, with participation from WEH Ventures and angel investors including Alakh Pandey, Prateek Maheshwari (PhysicsWallah), and Arjun Vaidya.
Praan Health focuses specifically on the ageing parent demographic people aged 50 and above who often face multiple chronic lifestyle-related conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and osteoporosis. Founded in 2024 by Navneeth Ramprasad (formerly at Netflix/Meta), the startup seeks to shift the care model from hospital-centric to habit-driven preventive care at home.
Its offering includes personalised programmes spanning 90, 180 and 365 days, led by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nutritionists, physiotherapists and strength coaches. Praan also recently launched a mobile app that enables children to track their parents’ progress: from blood-test uploads to risk scores and weekly updates. The new funds are earmarked for advancing technology, expanding the clinical team, establishing new centres in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, and scaling outreach to thousands of families across India.
According to the company, within less than a year of operations, Praan has supported over 1,500 families and delivered more than 50,000 personalised sessions in India. With India’s ageing population growing rapidly, the startup sees a large market opportunity for lifestyle-first chronic care.
“Healthcare for our parents shouldn’t start at the hospital it should start at home. Praan turns chronic care into daily habits of movement, strength, and evidence-based nutrition.”
