The forecast prompts concern for vector-borne diseases (like dengue, malaria, chikungunya), waterborne illnesses, and respiratory infections due to increased humidity.
The state has urged the public to take preventive steps: eliminate stagnant water around homes, use mosquito repellents or nets, keep windows and doors screened, practice water purification, and maintain personal hygiene. Officials also encourage “dry day” routines once a week to help drain standing water.
Rural and peri urban zones where drainage is poor and sanitation gaps exist are likely to see higher exposure. Health departments are coordinating community outreach, increased disease surveillance, and readiness in clinics to manage potential outbreaks.
