Torrent Group has officially diversified into hospital healthcare with plans for a ₹750 crore, over 500-bed multispecialty hospital in Ahmedabad, marking a strategic expansion beyond its core pharmaceuticals and power businesses. The greenfield project, situated in Ahmedabad’s rapidly developing western corridor, will be developed in phases. Initial beds are expected to become operational by 2027–28, with full capacity rollout following thereafter. The hospital will offer comprehensive tertiary services across key specialties oncology, cardiology, neurosciences, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, nephrology, and critical care supported by advanced diagnostics, modular operation theatres, and intensive care units.
Torrent Group’s entry leverages synergies with Torrent Pharmaceuticals (a top-10 Indian pharma company with strong oncology and cardiology portfolios), enabling integrated research, clinical trials, and personalized treatment pathways.
