UF Health Promotes Craig Richardville to Senior Vice President and Chief Digital & Information Officer

University of Florida Health has elevated Craig Richardville, MBA, CHCIO, CDH-E, to the role of senior vice president and chief digital and information officer for its clinical enterprise, effective May 1, 2026. The move expands his oversight to include enterprise digital strategy, information technology, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and data analytics.

Announced on April 9, 2026, this internal promotion builds on Richardville’s recent contributions as deputy chief information officer at UF Health. With over 30 years of healthcare IT experience, including nearly 20 years in chief information or digital officer positions at major health systems, he will now lead digital transformation across clinical, business, and research operations while accelerating responsible AI adoption and strengthening cybersecurity.

University of Florida Health has announced the promotion of Craig Richardville to a senior leadership position as senior vice president and chief digital and information officer for its clinical enterprise. The appointment takes effect on May 1, 2026, and formalizes an expanded scope of responsibilities that includes guiding the overall digital and information strategy for the organization. Richardville will oversee key areas such as information technology infrastructure, artificial intelligence initiatives, cybersecurity measures, data and analytics programs, and efforts to build a more digital and data driven workforce.

Prior to this elevation, Richardville served as deputy chief information officer at UF Health, where he played a key role in enhancing operational performance, advancing Epic system modernization efforts, and fostering greater digital collaboration across the health system. His extensive background spans more than three decades in healthcare technology and digital transformation. Before joining UF Health, he held senior executive roles at several large integrated delivery networks, where he championed cloud first, mobile first, and patient centered digital strategies. He has also contributed to shaping national healthcare IT standards and policies through engagement with legislative and executive leaders.

In his new position, Richardville will focus on aligning technology investments with UF Health’s academic, research, and patient care missions. This includes expanding the responsible use of artificial intelligence to support clinical decision-making, improving privacy and security protocols, and enabling smoother digital workflows for staff. The promotion reflects UF Health’s commitment to leveraging technology and innovation to deliver exceptional care while advancing discovery and education.

Stephen J. Motew, MD, MHA, FACS, president and system CEO of UF Health, highlighted Richardville’s national reputation and proven track record in leading complex health systems. The appointment is seen as a strategic step to strengthen the organization’s digital capabilities as it continues to grow.
