Aster DM Healthcare has announced a key digital leadership change: long-time Group CIO Vineeth Purushottam is stepping down after seven years, and Kumar K.V. has taken over as the new Group Chief Information Officer, signalling the next phase of the companyโs technology-driven growth strategy.
Glimpse:
Vineeth Purushottam, who spearheaded Asterโs digital transformation covering cloud migration, cybersecurity and data strategy will transition into a Vice President role for the hand-over. Kumar K.V., with more than two decades of technology and healthcare experience including ten-plus years at Narayana Health, steps into the CIO role to continue scaling Asterโs technology platforms and innovation roadmap.
In a pivotal leadership shift, Aster DM Healthcare has named Kumar K.V. as its new Group Chief Information Officer, following the departure of Vineeth Purushottam from the role. Purushottam has led the organisationโs digital and IT strategy for over seven years, focusing on building a strong technology foundation across India and the GCC region.
Reflecting on his tenure, Purushottam posted on LinkedIn: โAfter seven incredibly meaningful years at Aster DM Healthcare, I have stepped down from the Group CIO role. This has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career โ working across India and the GCC, building a strong technology foundation by consolidating systems, removing silos, strengthening cybersecurity, accelerating cloud and digital adoption, and shaping a data-driven culture.โ
Meanwhile, Kumar arrives with a robust background: he spent more than ten years as Group CIO at Narayana Health and held senior technology roles at PwC and Tata Consultancy Services. His appointment comes as Aster deepens its push into digital innovation, interoperability, advanced analytics and cloud-based care platforms.
In his remarks, Kumar noted:
โI am excited to join Aster DM Healthcare at this juncture of growth and transformation. My aim is to build on the strong work already done, continue moving our systems to the cloud, enhance cybersecurity posture, and accelerate innovation so we deliver best-in-class digital care across geographies.โ
For Aster, this change reflects the organisationโs evolving technology agenda shifting from initial digital infrastructure build-out to scaling cloud-native platforms, embedding advanced data-analytics workflows, and enabling multi-regional care delivery through digitisation. With Kumar leading the charge, the company expects to expand its reach and technological capability across its operations in India and the GCC.
โBy bringing a fresh leader into our digital helm, we are reinforcing our commitment to innovation, resilience and scale ensuring technology remains at the heart of our global care model.โ
