Kuwait’s Travel-Health Network Expands New Preventive-Care Clinic Opens at Farwaniya Hospital

The Kuwait Ministry of Health (MoH) has launched a new travel-health clinic at Farwaniya Hospital  taking the total number of such clinics in the country to eight  to bolster preventive health services, vaccinations and travel-related medical advice for citizens and expatriates.

Glimpse:

The new facility will provide pre-travel medical consultations, destination-specific vaccination services, preventive treatments (when needed), and advisory support for travelers heading to regions with infectious-disease risks.  Several travel-health clinics, including the new one at Farwaniya, operate on flexible “two-shift” schedules (morning and evening) to better accommodate travelers’ needs and busy schedules.

As international travel demand rises and global health risks persist, Kuwait’s MoH is expanding its travel-health infrastructure. On 2 December 2025, the ministry inaugurated a new Travelers’ Health Clinic at Farwaniya Hospital  the latest addition to a network that now includes eight clinics across all governorates.

This expansion reflects a broader preventive-health push offering services such as vaccinations (for diseases like yellow fever, typhoid, or other destination-specific risks), malaria prophylaxis, travel medical advice, and destination-tailored health counseling.  The ministry emphasizes that such services are especially important for travelers heading to regions with high epidemiological risk.

To increase accessibility, many of these clinics  including the one at Farwaniya  operate on a two-shift system (morning and evening), providing flexibility for working individuals or those travelling frequently, and helping avoid the rush during peak hours.

Officials urge prospective travelers to visit travel-health clinics well in advance  ideally 4–6 weeks before departure to complete vaccinations and preventive care in time.

“With the new clinic at Farwaniya, we’re strengthening preventive care for all travellers ensuring that Kuwaitis and expatriates leave with confidence that health risks are addressed before they step out of the country.”
