Fortis Healthcare Limited has announced the appointment of Yashpal Singh Rawat as Senior Vice President and Facility Director of Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) in Gurugram. Rawat brings more than 22 years of rich experience in hospital operations, having held senior leadership positions at Max Healthcare, Artemis Hospitals, and Paras Healthcare, where he successfully managed large multispecialty facilities, led accreditation processes (JCI, NABH), and drove significant improvements in clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
In his new role, Rawat will be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of FMRI Gurugram, one of India’s most advanced quaternary care hospitals known for its centres of excellence in oncology, cardiac sciences, neurosciences, organ transplants, orthopaedics, and robotic surgery. His mandate includes optimizing operational efficiency, strengthening medical and nursing talent pools, enhancing patient experience through digital tools and personalized care pathways, expanding medical tourism and international patient services, and ensuring seamless integration of emerging technologies such as AI-powered diagnostics, robotic-assisted procedures, and tele-ICU capabilities.
Rawat will report directly to the senior leadership team at Fortis Healthcare and work closely with clinical heads, including renowned specialists such as Dr. Ashok Rajgopal (Orthopaedics), Dr. Udgeath Dhir (Cardiac Surgery), Dr. Praveen Chandra (Interventional Cardiology), and Dr. Sandeep Vaishya (Neurosurgery), to align operational goals with clinical excellence.
