OpenEvidence Launches Dotflows to Deliver Personalized AI Workflows for Clinicians

Published: April 8, 2026

OpenEvidence has introduced Dotflows, a new AI capability that allows clinicians to create personalised, reusable workflows tailored to their specific practice style and patient population. The tool enables doctors to build custom AI “flows” for tasks such as differential diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and patient education.

Glimpse:

Dotflows lets clinicians design, save, and share their own AI-powered clinical workflows without needing coding skills. Once created, these personalised flows can be triggered with a simple command and adapt to each patient’s unique context. The feature aims to reduce cognitive load, improve consistency, and make AI more practical and trustworthy in daily clinical practice.

OpenEvidence, a leading AI platform for clinicians, has launched Dotflows a powerful new feature that brings personalised artificial intelligence directly into daily clinical workflows. Unlike generic AI tools that offer one size fits all responses, Dotflows allows doctors to create, customise, and reuse their own AI workflows based on their clinical expertise and preferred approach.

With Dotflows, clinicians can design step by step AI processes for common tasks such as generating differential diagnoses, creating tailored treatment plans, drafting patient specific documentation, or preparing educational materials. Once built, these personalised workflows can be activated instantly with a simple prompt and automatically adapt to the individual patient’s data and clinical context.

The new capability is designed to make AI more actionable and trustworthy at the point of care. By giving clinicians control over how AI supports them, Dotflows helps reduce alert fatigue, improve documentation quality, and enhance decision-making efficiency. It also supports knowledge sharing within care teams by allowing physicians to share their optimised flows with colleagues.

This launch reflects OpenEvidence’s ongoing focus on developing clinician centric AI tools that integrate seamlessly into real world medical practice rather than replacing human judgment.

“Dotflows puts the power of AI directly in the hands of clinicians. Instead of generic outputs, doctors can now build and reuse workflows that match their own clinical reasoning and style making AI truly useful in daily practice.”
