Delivering Hope: Mohammed Siraj Brightens Young Lives at Rainbow Children’s Hospital

Children with cancer often face not only physical challenges but also serious mental health concerns like depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues. Psychological support from doctors, parents, relatives, and care teams plays a vital role in their healing process and overall emotional well-being.

In a heartwarming gesture, Mohammed Siraj, the Indian cricket team's Right-Arm Fast Bowler, visited Rainbow Children’s Hospital to inspire young cancer survivors. Known as “Miya Magic” on the field, Siraj spent quality time with the children, offering them encouragement and distributing gifts. His pep talk was a powerful message of resilience and hope.

Reflecting on the visit, Siraj shared, “I’m truly happy to be here with these brave kids. In cricket, dropping a catch can sometimes change the outcome of a game. Similarly, in life, losing confidence or emotional balance can impact your battle with challenges like cancer. But just like we fight back on the field, I urge you all to stay strong and never give up. Your courage is your greatest asset in this fight. Be resilient, and always believe in yourself."

Several esteemed medical professionals were also present at the event, including Dr. Dinesh Kumar Chirla, Director of Intensive Care Services; Dr. Faisal B Nahdi, Pediatrician; Dr. Sirisha Rani, Senior Consultant Pediatric Hematologist & Oncologist; Dr. Lokesh Lingappa, Consultant Child and Adolescent Neurologist; and Dr. Prashanth K, Group Medical Director & Regional Director of Business Operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sirisha Rani emphasized the importance of early cancer detection, stating, “Advances in cancer treatment have significantly improved the survival rates of children. Timely diagnosis is key to saving lives."

The event was a beautiful reminder of the strength of the human spirit, as sports and medical care came together to support the children in their battle against cancer.
