GE Healthcare and Indonesia Partner to Deploy Advanced CT Scanners Nationwide

GE Healthcare has partnered with the Indonesian government to roll out advanced computed tomography (CT) scanners across the country, aiming to enhance diagnostic imaging capacity, support early disease detection and improve clinical outcomes across hospitals and diagnostic centres.

Glimpse:

Under the collaboration, advanced CT technology will be deployed in hospitals and key healthcare facilities throughout IndonesiaΒ  expanding access to high-resolution imaging for cancer, trauma, cardiovascular and neurological care while strengthening national health infrastructure.

GE Healthcare and health authorities in Indonesia have announced a strategic collaboration to deploy advanced CT scanners across the nation, marking a significant expansion of diagnostic imaging capacity within the country’s healthcare system. The partnership is designed to address gaps in diagnostic infrastructureΒ  especially in regions where access to high-quality imaging has been limited.

Advanced CT scanners offer high-resolution imaging, faster scan times and improved soft-tissue visualisation, enabling clinicians to diagnose conditions ranging from traumatic injuries and cardiovascular disease to cancer and neurological disorders more accurately and efficiently. By equipping a larger number of hospitals and diagnostic facilities with this technology, the programme aims to reduce wait times, support early detection efforts and guide precise treatment planning.

Officials involved in the collaboration have highlighted that expanding the footprint of modern imaging technology aligns with Indonesia’s broader health system goals improving preventive care, strengthening emergency response capabilities and ensuring quality services are available across both urban and rural areas. The deployment of advanced CT systems also supports national screening initiatives and helps clinicians make data-driven decisions at the point of care.

GE Healthcare brings decades of experience in medical imaging innovation, combining robust hardware design with digital capabilities that streamline workflows and enhance image interpretation. These scanners are expected to integrate with digital health systems, enabling seamless access to imaging results and contributing to more coordinated patient care.

The initiative reflects a wider trend in global health partnerships where advanced technologies are leveraged to improve diagnostic reach and elevate standards of care in emerging health markets.

β€œExpanding access to advanced CT imaging will help clinicians diagnose critical conditions faster and more accurately, supporting better care for patients nationwide.”
