Zydus Hospitals, a prominent multi-specialty healthcare provider in Gujarat, has acquired VINS Hospital in Ahmedabad, a specialised centre known for advanced neurology and neurosurgery services. The acquisition bolsters Zydus’s neurocare capabilities with VINS’s established expertise in stroke management, neurointervention, epilepsy surgery, and complex brain tumour procedures, creating one of the most comprehensive neuroscience programmes in western India.
Glimpse:
Announced on January 24, 2026, the acquisition integrates VINS Hospital’s team of renowned neurologists and neurosurgeons, advanced neuro-catheterisation lab, dedicated stroke unit, and high-volume neurosurgical experience into Zydus Hospitals’ ecosystem. The move enhances Zydus’s ability to offer 24/7 neuro-emergency services, minimally invasive interventions, and multidisciplinary care for complex neurological conditions, while expanding capacity to serve a larger patient base from Gujarat and neighbouring states.
Zydus Hospitals has further solidified its position as a leading destination for neurological and neurosurgical care in India through the strategic acquisition of VINS Hospital, a specialised neurocare facility in Ahmedabad. The deal, finalised in late January 2026, brings together two respected names in Gujarat’s private healthcare landscape, combining Zydus’s broad multi-specialty infrastructure with VINS’s focused excellence in brain, spine, and nerve-related disorders.
VINS Hospital has long been recognised for its high-volume stroke programme, advanced neurointerventional procedures (thrombectomy, aneurysm coiling, AVM embolisation), epilepsy surgery unit, and expertise in treating complex brain tumours, spinal deformities, and movement disorders. The centre also operates a dedicated neuro-critical care ICU and a comprehensive rehabilitation wing capabilities that will now be seamlessly integrated into Zydus Hospitals’ flagship facility in Ahmedabad and its growing network.
The acquisition allows Zydus to significantly expand its neuro-emergency and elective services. Patients will benefit from round-the-clock availability of interventional neurologists, neurointensivists, and neurosurgeons, as well as access to advanced imaging (3T MRI, 128-slice CT with perfusion), neuro-navigation, intraoperative neuromonitoring, and robotic-assisted procedures all under one roof. The combined team will also strengthen research and training initiatives, including fellowship programmes in neurointervention and functional neurosurgery.
Dr. Chirag Solanki, Group Director of Neurosciences at Zydus Hospitals, said: “VINS has built an outstanding reputation for handling the most complex neurological cases with exceptional outcomes. By bringing their expertise and team into the Zydus fold, we are creating a truly world-class neuroscience centre capable of managing everything from acute stroke to rare movement disorders delivering faster, safer, and more comprehensive care to patients across the region.”
The transaction is expected to increase Zydus Hospitals’ overall neuroscience case volume by 40–50% in the first year post-integration. It also aligns with the group’s long-term vision of establishing super-specialty centres of excellence while maintaining affordability and accessibility for patients from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
The acquisition reflects a broader trend in India’s private healthcare sector, where leading chains are consolidating specialised capabilities to meet rising demand for advanced care in high-prevalence areas like stroke, neurotrauma, and degenerative neurological conditions.
“Combining VINS’s specialised neurocare excellence with Zydus’s multi-specialty strength creates a powerful synergy one that will raise the standard of neurological care in western India and beyond.”
